FITCH were asked to refurbish the Westside flagship store located in the iconic Army and Navy building in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. The intention was to bring the store up to date, in line with the best in India and abroad, and moving away from the previous cluttered and drab interiors.
Due to working within one of Mumbai’s most famous buildings, our strategy was to maintain the heritage of the building whilst modernising and enhancing the customer experience to match the aspirations of the reinvigorated Westside brand.
FITCH developed a concept that feels modern and spacious. We ensured that the character of the building, its numerous columns and generous ceiling heights, remained an integral to the overall design.
Unique features including high level display bays for visual merchandise and bold department signage aid navigation and bring the store and the products to life.
FITCH updated the master brand and all of the sub brands and departments already found within a Westside, and created two new brands, NUON, a youth brand, and Gourmet West, a premium food offering.
