FITCH appoints new leader and associates to boost Grocery practice

In our commitment to offering true industry expertise for grocery retailers, we are delighted to announce an expansion of the grocery practice within the Phoenix studio. Rick Redpath joins FITCH as Grocery Studio Director to oversee day-to-day operations and quality for all grocery projects. Thirteen new associates join Redpath to hit the ground running in the fully functional studio. Redpath was formerly the Managing Principal of Nadel Architects’ Phoenix office, and is a licensed architect with 30 years of experience managing grocery-focused practices.

Redpath’s extensive knowledge of grocery architecture and design includes work with retailers such as Sprouts Farmers Market, Tesco’s Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, Bashas’, Whole Foods Market, Kroger’s, Fry’s Food & Drug, Smitty’s Super Valu, Mega Food Stores and Walgreens. In addition to working directly for major grocery retailers, Rick has built relationships with real estate developers such as Armstrong Development, De Rito Partners, Weingarten, Vestar and Regency Centers.

FITCH already has a strong base in the grocery sector, having designed store experiences for food retailers around the world including Morrisons, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Bharti Walmart, More Supermarkets and TianHe.

Lois Jacobs, CEO of FITCH, said, “Rick’s substantial experience with clients in grocery, pharmacy and retail shopping center development will add great value to our North American operations. In the last twelve months, new business wins with Safeway, Sprouts Farmers Market, Sports Authority, T-Mobile, Fixtures Living, Buffalo Wild Wings and H&M are providing much momentum in our business and I am delighted to welcome Rick.”

“I trust and value Rick’s expertise,” said Jerry Stutler, V.P. Construction & Facility Engineering of Sprouts Farmers Market, and a long-standing client of both Redpath and FITCH. “Now that Rick has joined FITCH, one of our valued architects, it provides Sprouts Farmers Market with a truly great resource with which to manage our continued growth.”

FITCH’s Phoenix studio continues to build momentum with new clients and new hires. We have enjoyed tremendous growth in the past year through expanding relationships with long-term clients such as T-Mobile, and the addition of new clients, such as Aria Resort & Casino. The Phoenix studio provides architectural services to leading retail and restaurant brands throughout the US and Canada.
