FITCH wins two International Store Awards for the innovative and sustainable Fixtures Living showroom.

We are proud to announce more awards for the innovative and sustainably designed Fixtures Living showroom. The Retail Design Institute (RDI) International Store Awards recognize outstanding retail design from around the world. Winners were announced at the 41st Annual Awards gala, which kicked off the 2012 National Retail Federation’s “Big Show” in New York.

FITCH and Fixtures Living received an Award of Merit in the Hardlines category and a special Innovation Award for Graphics. An RDI Award is one of the most coveted and prestigious awards in the industry. Each year a panel of retail and design experts judge entries from mass/discount, specialty, department stores, and restaurants.

“FITCH was very lucky to be working with a client that had a unique and singular vision and a commitment to groundbreaking innovation,” says Christian Davies, FITCH Executive Creative Director, Americas. “Our design and architecture teams are proud to have been able to play a part in the evolution of this remarkable brand.

The Fixtures Living showroom, in Costa Mesa, California, offers customers searching for best-in-class appliances and fixtures a unique opportunity to experience thirty kitchen and bath vignettes, as well as three working “labs.” Products are presented in a modern, residential context. Fun and informative graphics educate customers, while also assisting them with decision-making.

Targeted for USGBC LEED Silver certification, the showroom incorporates energy and resource efficiency, low VOC materials, and diverted more than 75% of construction waste from landfill. Fixtures Living also has received a 2011 Mesa Green Design Award from the Costa Mesa Planning Commission and a Creative Best “Best of Category” award from the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts.
