What We’re Looking for:
We are seeking passionate, strategic, organized and driven students looking for a fast-paced, exciting and collaborative environment where they can learn how to transform brands. As a fully immersed member of the team, you will participate in projects from start to finish, working side by side with design, strategy and implementation experts. Your assigned mentor and creative team will provide guidance and direction to develop straightforward design approaches to complex design challenges across packaging, brand development, corporate identity, mobile, digital and user experience design projects.
We are looking for students in their third, fourth or fifth year of college, majoring in graphic design or equivalent discipline. Landor & Fitch Chicago offers paid internships that last approximately three to four months, depending on the time of year and school schedule and/ program. These positions are located in our Chicago, Illinois office.
Candidates must have completed a minimum of 3 semesters or equivalent in their program and should have advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop with intermediate/exploratory skills in supplemental creative design software. Skills in After Effects or Adobe XD are a plus. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
Landor & Fitch looks for students with stunning portfolios, excellent communication skills, and a strong desire to learn as much as they can about design at a global agency level. Successful candidates will be knowledgeable and passionate about what Landor & Fitch does, aware of new trends and techniques, and be willing to jump into our work culture with a positive attitude and lots of flexibility.

Our Designers explore and conceptualize design options and solutions that maintain our vision and creative beliefs– ‘great ideas expertly and beautifully crafted and delivered with rigor and flair’. They work in conjunction with the Design Directors Creative Studio to evaluate design options, develop and push to find ‘big ideas’ based on design strategy and the creative brief. They develop straightforward design approaches to complex design challenges across packaging, brand development, corporate identity, mobile, digital and user experience design projects.
So, what are we looking for?
Bright designers with a keen eye, a sense of humour, and a taste for challenge. You will have significant experience in a similar role, ideally within branding, and advanced motion skills and knowledge of Adobe illustrator, Premier Photoshop, After Effects and/or Cinema 4D. You are a Strategic thinker who is able to problem solve as well as being Highly organised with ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities whilst sticking to tight deadlines.

As a User Experience Designer you will play an active role in the creative process to develop the blueprints for compelling customer/user experience working with a wider diverse creative team. You will work in both consultative and productive capacities directly with client partners to overcome challenges from a user-centric perspective.You work well within large teams and independently and participate and contribute in design critiques. You will develop compelling experiences for customers throughout their omni-channel journeys. Workshop facilitation and participation with both internal and client teams; prototyping concepts in the physical/digital space. You will document the user experience through journey and service mapping, personas, wireframes & information architecture.
What We're Looking For
You have 1+ years of experience working in design environments and a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design. Expert knowledge of visualization, wire-framing & prototyping package(s) (e.g. Axure, Invision etc.) You have high proficiency of visualization design software (Adobe CS, Sketch, etc..) and knowledge of the traditional web-stack HTML/CSS/JS and a good grasp of semiotics, semantics and linguistics.
